Binaural Beats - 10 Hz (Alpha Wave) - Relaxation
I've created an example of a 10 Hz (alpha wave) binaural beat and included it here so you can get an idea of what it's like to listen to a binaural beat recording. Binaural beats are a type of brainwave entrainment. Basically listening to a binaural beat forces your brain into a certain brainwave frequency which effects your mood and thinking process greatly.
It uses two different tones (one in each ear) to create a mental "beat" which is the difference between those two tones being filled in by your mind.
This binaural beat recording uses filtered noise as it's base sound as I find it's easier to listen to than a sine wave. On the left the sound is 1100 Hz and on the right 1110 Hz. A binaural beat is created by the difference between the two sides/ears so this means the binaural beat created is 10 Hz. 10 Hz is within the alpha brainwave frequency area (7 Hz to 10 Hz.) alpha waves are thought to be good for relaxation. As you listen to this recording your mind should begin to enter the alpha wave frequency and you should begin to feel more relaxed and centered.
Binaural beats only work when the frequency difference between left & right ears are small (30 Hz or less) because otherwise the two sounds would be noticeable as two different tones.
It only seems to work well with tones between 1000 & 1100 Hz.
